We are sure working hard to grow this tropical root crop in the desert when it gets above 100 degrees we use a swamp cooler to cool the plant off and when the sun gets directly overhead we put shade cloth over it but so far our efforts are working and it takes a long ten months to mature....

Part of the fun with the farming we do is seeking out and growing some of the oldest rarest seeds it is the surprises we find on the vines then trying to figure out what the heck they are. Frankly we are not used to haveing such success in our squash, melons and cucumbers being organic squash bugs...

Well the chicken did not thaw out in time and we were thinking of going out to dinner ? But could not think of somewhere to go so looked at what we had let's see animal welfare approved pastured eggs A2 jersey fresh whole milk from my neighbor pattypan squash , rainbow Swiss chard, red wattle...
